Dr. John J. Barnes, M.D.

Dr. Barnes was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia, following the footsteps of both his horse and buggy grandfather Doctor and his Ob/Gyn father. He entered the medical field, after attending Westminster in Atlanta, receiving a Bachelors Degree in Biomedical Engineering at Duke University. After graduating from the Medical College of Georgia, he completed a surgical internship in Birmingham, Alabama and then completed his Obstetrics and Gynecology training at Bowman Gray School of Medicine in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Soon after, in 1995, he moved to Macon to join Drs. Schuessler, Pope and Kehl in their private practice. He is a Pro-Life obstetrician and is the Medical Director for the Caring Solutions Pregnancy Center, as well as a member of the Bibb County Medical Society.
Dr. Barnes and his wife, Kimberly, have nine children and one grandchild. They are members of Ingleside Baptist Church and currently, one of his daughters' is attending Medical College to become a Fourth Generation Doctor. In his time out of the office, Dr. Barnes enjoys attending the Atlanta Braves home games and playing video games with his children, as well as watching college basketball.
